The New Cumberland Town Band had its beginning in 1946 as the New Cumberland American
Legion Post 143 Band. In the early 1950s the band became an independent, self-supporting
organization.
The Band is most active in the summer months and plays in New Cumberland and other
Harrisburg area venues. The Band also plays an annual Christmas Concert at Trinity United
Methodist Church which is co-sponsored by the New Cumberland OldeTowne Association.
The band has been lead by Harold Yegley, Ken Sampson, Don MacCluskie, Larry Vittone, Don
Shope, Dick Klinedinst, Pat Ciccarone, Earl T. Caton, Jr., Larry Grier, Donna J. Deaven, Tom
Turnbull, Jr. and our current conductor John Bugosh.
New Cumberland Town Band practices most Tuesday evenings during the summer 7:30-9:30.
Trinity United Methodist Church
is home to the bands spacious, air conditioned practice hall.
The band is grateful for the church's generous support.
